[ Custom Carpets New Zealand ]
A division of [ Dilana Rugs Limited ]
HISTORY: In recognition of the potential to develop one-off, site-specific carpet designs using new technologies, Custom Carpets New Zealand evolved from Dilana Rugs Ltd in 2006.
Dilana's 30+ years experience producing New Zealand fine-artists' images in hand-tufted rugs brings an unparalleled expertise to the commercial carpet environment.
ARTISTRY: Dilana's Managing Director Hugh Bannerman works in close collaboration with over 30 distinguished New Zealand artists. He crafts their artistry into extraordinary limited-edition, hand tufted, New Zealand wool rugs for collectors throughout the world.
IMAGERY: The skills necessary to accurately craft artists' images into rugs, translates smoothly into the introduction of design into broadloom carpet; residential & commercial alike. To learn more about what we do, click through to the primary website for [ Custom Carpets NZ ]
CARPET TILE TECHNOLOGY: EcoSoft® is the result of recent technologies that enables post consumer drinking water bottles to be converted into a carpet tile backing that, virtually overnight, rendered the old PVC, fibreglass & bitumen carpet tile backings obsolete.
PERFORMANCE: EcoSoft® acoustic carpet tiles are proven to effectively perform in commercial, public, institutional & education environments.
RECYCLING CLAIMS: Since EcoSoft® was released as a commercial carpet tile in 2007, we have not supplied, nor are now we prepared to supply, the old technology PVC & fibreglass backed tiles. This is not only because of their comparitive inferiorty as a perfoming product .. we have the testing to prove it .. but because the undue pressure they place on the environment is no longer necessary or acceptable.
Many claims are made about the recycling potential for PVC & fibreglass backed tiles. Whatever you may think about that, it's worth remembering that long before recycling needs to be addressed, the original construction of EcoSoft® carpet tile backing uses 85%-90% post-consumer recycled material.
